Hobbies/Interests: Reading for fun and for learning, exercise - jog with my three friends four mornings a week, time with my family - husband, kids and partners, and one granddaughter (Olive)

What do you enjoy most about teaching? Getting to know so many people and what makes them tick. Honoring and empowering students.

What do you find the most challenging about teaching? I would just like more time to prepare and to get to know students well.

What being a Gold Star Teacher means to you: This has been an opportunity to reflect on everyone I've worked with and everything the Waterloo Schools Community has offered me, and I am so very grateful to all of the people here. I have had the opportunity to learn from so many students, staff, and the University of Northern Iowa, and I truly appreciate it all!
