What do you enjoy most about teaching? Being in the library allows me to watch how students from Kdg to 5th grade, grow and learn! I love teaching students how to become excited about reading books. I love getting hugs, special letters and pictures, and the friendly waves that students give me in the hallway.

What do you find the most challenging about teaching? I think the most challenging aspects to teaching today are some of the injustices that our students face.

Best tip for new teachers: Get plenty of rest, take your vitamins, find some comfortable shoes, and find an accountability partner! Be ready for the run of a lifetime, there will be ups and downs along the way, but at the end of the ride, it's the joy that you feel that you have impacted someone else's life. Get plenty of rest, take your vitamins, and find some comfortable shoes!

Best tip for career teachers: To continue to be the foundation for our educational system, continue to teach, love, and inspire our students. Continue through the difficulties and barriers that might arise. Continue on the path of investing and fighting for all our students and families. Use your wisdom to lead others to greatness.

Favorite piece of advice for students: We love and respect everyone no matter what they look like, or where they come from, everyone is special! Also read, read read and read some more.

What being a Gold Star Teacher means to you: Being a Gold Star teacher means being 1 of the many educators who know how important education is for children, and that I am willing to go above and beyond for our students, families, and staff.
