What do you enjoy most about teaching? I enjoy challenging students to explore their curiosities to CREATE the next technologies moving beyond being consumers of technology.

What do you find the most challenging about teaching? One of my biggest challenges is time; having enough time to provide every student with all the resources and opportunities needed for their success.

Best tip for new teachers: Do your best to keep everything in perspective; every problem is an opportunity - an opportunity for improvement! Your classroom is a laboratory, so sometimes things don't go as planned. THAT'S OK!

Best tip for career teachers: Don't let perception become reality, by staying connected with other educators and our local community. I believe it will help keep us focused on our students.

Favorite piece of advice for students: Keep it Real, be you! By advocating for your needs and opportunities, be curious, and ask WHY? You know what you need BEST, so any ask is NEVER too small or large!

What being a Gold Star Teacher means to you: Being a Gold Star Teacher is an affirmation that our Cedar Valley Schools are continuing to get it right. Education is connected to our local employers and community working to meet their needs. Specifically, for me being a Gold Star Teacher is motivation to continue working to develop new partnerships and exciting opportunities for our students. I believe our future is bright. We, as a community, have to stay engaged informing and developing local Iowa opportunities for ALL our students' interest. I'm honored to be recognized as a Gold Star Teacher and thank our Cedar Valley community as we continue to this education journey together.
